TIPS FOR THE BEST SUMMER BREAK IN LIMASSOL, CYPRUS

Looking for the ideal destination for a short summer break? Greece may be one of the first places that pops into your mind, but you shouldn’t forget about Cyprus. A big island, where its almost always summer, due to the constant high temperatures and the crowded beaches.

This time, I visited Limassol, famously known for its beautiful port side and the palm trees that make it look like an extremely exotic destination, or a mainstream road in Miami. In any case, this port is definitely the highlight of Limassol.

The port is placed along a big part of the coastline, and just by the first sight, it seems contemporary and crowded. There, you’ll see children playing in mini-amusement parks, athletes running, couples enjoying the mesmerizing colors that are created by the everyday sunsets or girls taking pictures with a backround that you might actually say that it reminds you of a movie. However, what completes the scenery are the beautiful palm trees that have a truly commanding presence there. They bring the perfect balance between colors, aromas and senses.

This perfect view is ‘exploited’ by the cafes and the restaurants, which make the most of it. Epsilon and Marina Breeze LoungeBar are the ones that differentiate by their presence and their content.

In Epsilon, you’ll taste, among others, Mediterranean dishes with international influences accompanied with a variety of wines and cocktails. The ambiance is a combination of coziness and luxury and fits perfectly with the scenery around it. Epsilon has been awarded as the Best New Entry at Time Out Eating Awards 2016!

In Marina Breeze LoungeBar, you’ll find the ideal place for every time of your day. For the beginning of your day you can taste international breakfast and cooling smoothies. After work, tasteful dishes and signature cocktails are waiting for you. As for the end of your day the menu changes to international and the Dj turns the music up for parties by the sea. There is also a VIP lounge, which you can reserve for private parties!

Pier One is also there, with dishes inspired by the famously known Greek chef, Dimitris Skarmoutsos. The highlight is definitely the super food salads and the sandwiches with the bread baked on a hot rock. The place is ideal for a perfect nightlife experience, as there are distinguished barmen who are ready to make for you any kind of cocktail you dream of!

Equally nice food and drinks but out of the port, you’ll find at the Columbia Plaza . There are numerous choices of recipes and you can taste them under the shadow of a tree, or by the subtle fountain that is placed indoors.

And as I mentioned before, there is no way you’ll be in Cyprus and not visit a beach nearby. Even if the water is still freezing and decide not to go in (just like me), the sun, the heat, the music and the cocktails by the beach are necessary! A good solution for this is the nautical club of Limassol!

I know that my days in Cyprus weren’t enough, but if you ever find yourself there and follow my advice, you’ll have an amazing time!
